Patrik Antonius
Antonius was born in Helsinki in Finland in 1980. He lives in Las Vegas now after becoming a professional poker player. Antonius has many other skills under his belt as he is also a former tennis player and coach, and he used to be a male model in Finland.
Antonius started playing cards when he was a boy of only 11 years old. He is a relatively young poker player and is widely regarded as one of the best up and coming poker players ever to hit the poker scene. His passion and dedication towards poker are second to none. He was tutored by Marcel Luske in his early poker career and later on he was given a few pointer’s by the recent poker vids profile’d Jennifer Harman.
He started to play poker online at the various online casinos that offered poker games. He started off with a low bankroll of $200 and turned this into an amazing $10,000 in only 2 months time. This was his first taste of real success and is what turned into the professional poker player that graces the poker world today.
It was in 2005 that Antonius caught the attention of the poker world. He had a fantastic 8 cashes in major tournaments in 2005 alone. He also has a first place win under his belt that he took on the European Poker tour. His winnings in 2007 alone was over $2 million.
Now into his fourth year of mainstream success, Patrick is becoming a high profile poker star. He is now another regular at the “Big Game” and has recently become another member of the prestigious “Team Full Tilt” at Full tilt poker, meaning he is a regular player on their online site too. His various poker honours include a European Poker Tour title and several final table finishes. His money wins are really starting to rack up and he is one of pokervids.com most hotly tipped players to win some biog tournaments in future years.
