Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham is a consistent and regular poker player who grows in notoriety with every tournament win! Allen is well known by other poker players and he is both feared and respected as one of the great poker players of his generation.
He keeps his game tight, disciplined and consistent. It is this steadfast approach to the poker game that allows Cunningham to be so feared and well liked at the same time. He is a very popular player on the circuit- in fact, he was voted the best all round player under the age of 35 by his other players and peers in the game.
Cunningham was born and raised in the United States and was taught to play poker at a relatively young age. Cunningham’s real interest was spawned when he started playing in the native Indian casinos of North America, at the relatively young age of 18.
Cunningham dropped out of college when he was 19, where he was studying civil engineering and left for the bright lights of the poker tables, which was a brave decision for anyone to take. His age was obviously going to become his downfall; as he was under 21 he couldn’t play in the casinos where all the major tournaments were being held for big sums of money!
Cunningham took this time to improve his game and learn everything he could about the game he loved so dearly. When he finally turned 21, Cunningham hit the casinos big! He may not have started off so well, but he eventually found his feet, and his way to the big stakes games.
Allen now has no less than 5 gold World Series of Poker bracelets, joining an exclusive clutch of poker players to win one three years running. Like yesterday’s Pokervids.com player profile Alex Kravchenko, he earned his highest cash prize with a fourth place at the ‘Main Event’ in Las Vegas, this time in 2006. Allen Cunningham walked away from the table to claim a whopping $3,628,500, which contibuted heavily to the fortune he has now earnt from poker, now believed to be around $10,500,000. Allen is the 2005 Toyota/ESPN player of the year and was close to retaining his title in 2006 too. Although has never won a World Series of Poker title, he has made the final table twice, and had 11 money wins.
Allen has always had strong links with Full tilt poker, he was a sponsored pro for them for some time and two years ago they made him a member of the illustrious and revered “Team Full Tilt”.
