Whilst dredging through the internet, I can across this amusing clip somebody has put together, featuring all of the different James Bonds from over the years playing poker. The clip has been edited to look like they are playing in the same game and it is pretty amusing. I’m sure it is a game of poker that would get one hell of an audience (and probably a huge pot as a result!).
If you’re a fan of James Bond, who is no stranger to a game of poker or two, you should enjoy this little bit of fun:-

Stu Ungar (Sep 8th 1953 – Nov 22nd 1998)
Today’s poker vids profile is dedicated to the memory one of the legends of poker. Stu Ungar is without a doubt, one of the best poker players to ever play on the scene. His speciality form of poker was No Limit Hold’em poker game and he won far and wide. His many outstanding accomplishments in the poker world are why so many people, other players included, are led to think he is one of the all time greats. There are many who argue that Ungar is not only the best Texas holdem poker player of all time, but also the greatest player of gin rummy too.
Ungar won a huge 5 World Series of Poker bracelets, no less than 10 No Limit Hold’em poker championships and has had lots of other cashes along the way. Ungar is also the only player ever to have won the WSOP main event 3 times (Johnny Moss won three too, but one was by means of player voting, not an outright table win) Ungar even won the Super Bowl of Poker 3 times, which when he was playing was the second most important poker event globally (after the main event)..
One of the many reasons why Ungar is so good at poker could be that he has a photographic memory. He also has an IQ that a genius would envy. He relished the challenges that poker through to him and he enjoyed his winnings. He often became broke after winning a huge amount of money as he is naturally a high roller and a big tipper to boot.
Ungar was raised by Jewish Parents in Manhatten. The son of a loan shark and social club owner, he was exposed to gambling of various kinds from a young age. When he was still in his teens his father died and Ungar found his way around the New York gambling community, before long befriending a man named Victor Romano- an ex-con with an intrepid ability to remember fine details and an extensive knowledge including an ability to speak a number of languages. Romano acted like a father figure to Ungar, but happy to encourage Ungar in the gambling scene and he can certainly say he was an influential figure on the young man. Without the guidance of Romano, Ungar may never have become the legendary player he is in the world of card players today.
Ungar died in 1998 at the young age of 42. His death shook the poker world and his abuse towards drugs, the high life and fast living could have contributed to his untimely and very early death. There is a lot of documentation about this side of Ungar’s life – after his step-son’s suicide Ungar experimented heavily with drugs, eventually leading to a crippling addiction which is part of what made him one of the game’s great characters. So flamboyant is the life of Stu, that a movie about his poker career, and escapades on and off the table, was made in 2003.
Ungar is a legend in poker and will be so forever. His creativity on the table, his enthusiasm and his talent for poker will allow him to live on forever. Here at PokerVids.com we suggest you read up more on this legend, and maybe buy the film High Roller: The Stu Ungar story (Stuey in some parts of the world). For now, check out the late, great Stu Ungar as he wins his record breaking third WSOP in the year before his untimely death. Stuey, we salute you.
